We’ve been running our before and after-school clubs since 2003, providing children with a safe and fun environment to play, learn and meet new friends. As working parents ourselves, we know how hard it is to juggle the school pick-ups and your work commitments, so we’ve created our wrap-around sessions for morning and afternoon childcare outside of school hours, making the balance between work and family life just that little bit easier.

Our breakfast clubs open at 7.15am, where the children have time to eat a healthy breakfast and play with friends before we take them to their classrooms ready for a day of learning. At the end of the school day we collect children, provide them with a light tea, a choice of activities to engage in both inside and out before we close at 6.00pm.

Children aged 5 and below are supported by a keyworker whilst with us. The keyworker ensures your child feels safe and secure with us and supports them accessing all of our activities with the session.

Facilities We Can Provide

We strive to be the standard of excellence in:

  • Quiet Area: for reading and reflection
  • Craft Table: Drawing, Painting, Gluing etc
  • Games Area: Board Games, Jigsaws, Card Games etc
  • Electronic games area: Gameboy, Playstation etc
  • Freeplay Area: Dressing up, Cars, Trains, Barbie, Action Man etc
  • Construction: Lego, Duplo, Knex etc
  • Outside Play: School Playground
  • We can now collect children from other local schools, such as Medina Primary school, and local pre-schools and nurseries.

Food

We can also provide your child with breakfast and a light tea. Here we have a sample of the food that will be on offer:

Breakfast options

  • Choice of cereal or toast / crumpet / scrambled egg etc
  • Included in the morning session price
  • Inline with healthy school standards

Light tea options

  • 2 choices of sandwiches available per afternoon session (i.e. ham, cheese, marmite etc), a wrap, beans on toast or a hot dog
  • Fruit / salad / veggie sticks
  • Included in the afternoon session price
  • Any dietary requirements can be catered for upon request

Pricing

  • Morning Session, 7.15am-school start: £7.50 (Includes Breakfast) (Court Lane Jnr £6.90)
  • Afternoon Session, school finish -6.00pm: £12.75 (Includes Tea)
  • Both Sessions: £18 (Morning & Afternoon on same day) (Court Lane Jnr £17.40)
  • Flexi Sessions: £1 extra per child, per day (limited spaces available)
  • 1 hour sessions £6.50 Court Lane Schools / £6.75 Solent schools / Portsdown and Medina £6.25 (Nursery pick up also £6.50)per child, per day (limited spaces available)

Please note: The Farlington Wrap-Around Service will be operating the following sessions 5 days a week, except bank holidays and occasional days. Session times vary depending on the school. Prices valid from September 2026.
**Sessions at Portsdown Primary school is an after-school club only, no breakfast club available.

My son loves attending before-school club and is quite annoyed he does not have to go in the afternoons as well.

The activities are wide and varied, staff are very friendly and welcoming. The children are motivated with positive behaviour strategies like spot prizes. The breakfast provided is also varied with cereal, toast sometimes porridge etc.

The service is very flexible and I have been able to book an extra session very easily and quickly. communication is fast and very helpful including newsletters, Facebook page, and quick responses via emails.

My daughter has been attending Court Lane breakfast/after-school club and the holiday playscheme since she started school. The staff are brilliant with the children and really have encouraged my daughter who was quite shy to being with, to get involved with the many activities they do! And she has formed great friendships with both staff and children that I have trouble getting her to leave. They taught her how to skip, which is a work in progress, but shows the staff’s dedication and commitment to the children. The staff are really approachable, and will always listen to the parents & children. I couldn’t wish for a better setting for my daughter to attend.

I started using the Farlington Wraparound Service’s holiday club last summer after a recommendation from a friend. My Son was just finishing year R and I needed childcare that would cover my working hours, so the early start of 7:30 is just perfect for us. The location also suits us really well as we don’t live in the Farlington area but I work in Cosham and my husband in Havant so drop-off is really convenient!

Although only knowing one other child there at the beginning he has made friends and when he returns each holiday he is pleased to see them.

It is definitely value for money as all activities are included in the cost! They are never short of things to do and are out and about every day whatever the weather – so needs to pack his bags to cover all eventualities! Trips my son talks about include Staunton country park, Fort Nelson, cinema, and the end of last summer a trip to Wonderland in Bournemouth.

I can’t wait until my youngest can go there as well.

I have used the flaws on both sites and their holiday clubs and my boys love going. The service had developed over the year and I like the fact my 4-year-old has a key worker as he is one of the youngest to start school. The staff are friendly, approachable and welcome all the children with a smile.

Thank you and your lovely staff for looking after my little ….. for 3 mornings for 2 years (and my … briefly). Although a little shy and quiet, she always felt welcomed there by the staff in the morning and had a particularly soft spot for Jo who I agree is lovely. I felt happy to leave her and was confident that she was safe and having fun in my absence. It’s a great setup for working parents like myself and is fairly priced. Should we need to return one day then we certainly will but at present the trialing of the Playscheme day, is to give myself a break.
